Introducing The Boondocker: A New Home for RV & Camping Know-How
We’re excited to officially launch The Boondocker—a new resource built for RVers and campers across North America, with an AI assistant at its core.
The Boondocker is the English-language companion to Le Campeur Autonome, a platform that’s spent the past year building a trusted French-language resource for RV and camping questions—technical articles, a growing glossary, and directories that help you plan every trip. That project now has a community of thousands, and it’s built entirely on the same idea we’re bringing to The Boondocker: reliable, sourced answers, without the guesswork.
What you’ll find here
At the center of The Boondocker is our AI assistant—built specifically for RVs and camping, not as a general-purpose chatbot. Ask it a question about your electrical system, propane setup, plumbing, appliances, or trip planning, and it draws on real manufacturer manuals, verified technical documentation, and the web to give you a clear answer, complete with sources you can check for yourself.
Alongside the assistant, you’ll find a growing directory of RV and camping resources and articles covering the everyday realities of life on the road.
Why we built it
RV and camping life comes with a constant stream of small technical questions—the kind that are hard to answer at 9pm in a campground with low signal and easy to get wrong information about online. We built The Boondocker to close that gap: an assistant that tells you when it doesn’t know something instead of guessing and always shows its work.
Get started
Creating an account is free and comes with a batch of credits to try the assistant out for yourself. However you found us, welcome—and we hope The Boondocker earns a place in your glovebox.
