What is a cookie?
A cookie is a small text file placed on your device (computer, tablet, or phone) by the websites you visit. It is used, among other things, to maintain a session, remember certain preferences, or ensure the security of the site.
Other similar technologies (such as browser local storage) can serve comparable functions. In this policy, the term “cookies” refers to all such technologies.
Our approach to cookies
The Boodocker applies a minimization principle: it places only the cookies genuinely necessary for the operation and security of the site.
In practical terms, the site does not use any audience-measurement, advertising, or behavioural-tracking cookies. A visitor who browses the site without signing in or leaving a comment receives, for the most part, only the essential security cookies.
Cookies used on the site

No audience-measurement, advertising, or tracking cookies
The site does not place the following:
- statistical or personally identifiable audience-measurement cookies;
- advertising or targeting cookies;
- tracking cookies from social networks.
Traffic statistics are based on tools that aggregate visitor data and avoid placing tracking cookies.
Third-party services and cookies
Mapping (OpenStreetMap)
The maps displayed on RV & Camping Directory listings use OpenStreetMap. Displaying the map tiles does not involve a tracking cookie. Loading the maps does, however, require technical communication with the service’s servers (including your IP address) only to the extent strictly necessary to display the map.
Signing in via Google
If you choose to sign in to your account using the “sign in via Google” option, cookies placed by Google may come into play during authentication. These cookies are Google’s and are only activated if you voluntarily use that option. For more information, please refer to Google’s privacy and cookie policies.
Consent
The cookies used on this site are strictly necessary for its provision, proper functioning, and security. These cookies are essential to the service you requested and exempt from prior consent under Quebec’s Act 25.
Since the site does not place any audience-measurement, advertising, or tracking cookies, no separate consent is required for those purposes. You nevertheless retain full control over cookies through your browser settings, as explained below.
Managing and deleting cookies
You can view, restrict, or delete the cookies placed on your device at any time through your browser settings. Most browsers allow you to:
- view stored cookies and delete them individually or entirely;
- block third-party cookies;
- receive a warning before a cookie is placed;
- block all cookies.
Please note that blocking strictly necessary cookies may prevent certain parts of the site from working properly, including signing in to an account.
The help pages of the major browsers (Chrome, Firefox, Safari, Edge) explain the steps to follow in detail.
Retention period
The lifespan of each cookie is indicated in the tables above. Once it expires, the cookie is automatically deleted by your browser, unless you delete it manually beforehand.
Changes to this policy
This policy may be updated to reflect changes made to the site, to the technologies used, or to applicable legal requirements. The “last modified” date at the top of the page indicates the version currently in effect.
